At HOPE our focus is to reduce the maternal and neonatal mortality. We empower young women to become midwives for 2 main reasons; this young women will have a professional career and independent life and also they will learn the skills to help mothers to have safe deliveries, saving many mothers and newborns lives. In Bangladesh the maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity rate is high. Also, young girls are meant to get married at very young age to help the family financially.
This project will take young women from remote areas and train them to become midwives. With this goal, the newly graduated midwives will not only be able to work and support their family financially, but also will be able to help the pregnant women to have a safe pregnancy, delivery and rehabilitation into her new life.
