Over 45% of children in Kenya are multidimensionally poor, that is, they do not have adequate access to education, nutrition, sanitation and housing. The Nasio Trust's Child Sponsorship Programme fills this critical gap through the sponsorship of education, coverage for healthcare costs for the whole family and welfare checks to ensure chidlren's wellbeing. Raising $2,500 in 2026 will help ensure that the 395 children in our care receive opportunities to learn, play and thrive.
Over 45% of children in Kenya are multidimensionally poor, that is, they do not have adequate access to education, nutrition, sanitation and housing. This affects learning outcomes, health and future earning opportunities keeping children and families stuck in the vicious cycle of poverty.
Through our holistic Child Sponsorship Programme, not only do vulnerable children in Kenya receive free education and school supplies but also opportunities to learn outside of school (such as football, art , music and computer skills). Children who are often living with aged grandparents or single parents gain a social security net through our dedicated team of social workers, who make school and home visits to ensure the welfare of the children we support.
The project will directly support 395 orphaned and vulnerable children with access to education and healthcare, improving school learning outcomes.
