By Barbara Sakala | Sponsor a Child Administrator
Earlier this year, the Sponsor a Child program went through an exciting transition of not only having one person, but we are grateful to have grown the team to two people working on the ground. With that, we are putting new systems and processes in place that will ensure the continuous efficiency of the program. The growth of this program has been feasible because of your continuous generosity and support towards the children and the sponsorship program.
The ‘Covid era’ we now live in has changed how the school year runs and the education system has changed as they try to intensify the learning so that the children on the months they have lost out. These past few months, the schools closed down due to the surge in the cases in the country. This did not stop some children from accessing extra-curricular lessons in order to help them keep up with the workload that comes with the grades they are in. With cases gradually going down, schools reopened a month ago and now teachers are faced with the tasks of making sure the children are able to catch up with the school work, especially for the children in examination classes.
We have no doubt that with a little extra work, the goals set at the beginning of the school year will still be achieved due to the motivation and resilience of students and school staff alike.
Thank you so much for continuing to support education and creating brighter futures - your generosity is appreciated more now than ever!
