The project will construct a school and a residential facility for 500 orphaned and vulnerable children in Jinja. Uganda currently has over 2 million orphaned children. These children become susceptible to exploitation like sexual abuse, child labor, and child trafficking. Child Empowerment International will support the children by providing quality education, health and holistic care thereby expanding their opportunities, reducing poverty levels and empowering children to be leaders for life
Uganda currently has over 2 million orphaned children. This number is expected to rise in the next decade, increasing the risk of children having to live on the streets and becoming beggars. 80% of Ugandan children between the ages of 5 and 13 do not attend school. Many children drop out of school due to low income of their parents/guardians due to the prevalence of HIV/AIDS, making some of them orphans.Orphans are forced to live with relatives or a neighbor where they usually face severe abuse
Once constructed, the Leadership Academy will support up to 500 orphans by reducing the suffering of each forgotten child by providing them with basic food, shelter, clean water, and education. Improving the quality of life by establishing a leadership academy that will serve as their home, a school and a health care center. Creating self-sustaining, income generating projects for the youth in the area in order to improve their standard of living.
Scholarships for kids to attend CEI schools providing trained teachers, effective curriculum, computer training, nutrition programs, and access to medical care. Vocational training programs such as sustainable farming providing our students with employable skills after graduation. Clean water well projects in Uganda that will improve the quality of life of children and their families while freeing up their time to focus on studies vs.spending up to 7 hours a day collecting water in jugs.
