Thank you for your support to our project "Sphoorti After-School Study Centers"
In this report, we would like to highlight the journey of one of our children.
Shreya lost her mother Kolamma in an accident in Madanapalle district when she was 6. Since then she has been cared for by her aunt Vennela. She shifted to Tirupati after a few years. Aunt being illiterate and very poor, sought the help of Sphoorti Foundation to teach Shreya well. The school she was attending did not have enough faculty of teachers to conduct classes regularly.
Shreya has been attending our evening study hours in Tirupati for the last 4 years. She has picked up basics in Telugu, Math.
In addition to helping her complete her home assignments, we also help her learn Taekwondo and dance as well as bicycle riding. Through the help of our donors, we have also improved her nutrition by providing evening snacks, give them exposure to outside world through excursions to parks and Science Fairs and other places of tourist interest.
The girl is a hard working child and has been showing promise. She wants to be an IAS Officer in future and serve children who face violation of their rights and provide them justice.
