This project is focused on helping the blind and multi-disabled children by providing them with an education. We are focusing our efforts on raising money to purchase a minibus as many of the students live far from the school and their families can't afford to take them to this special needs school. Without this bus children will stay at home. Every child deserves the right to an educationI and this project will focus on those who need specialized education that they can't get anywhere else.
25 blind and multi-handicapped children in Santiago Chile cannot get to school because the government does not provide public transportation for these children and their parents cannot afford to transport them to school on a daily basis. If we dont help them by purchasing a minibus these children wont have access to an education and will not be able to grow as self-sufficient citizens of their community .
By purchasing this minibus we will be able to solve the transportation problem. The minibus will help 25 blind and multi-handicapped children get to a school that is tailored to their special needs and will give them the proper education that they can't get anywhere else.
The long-term impacts of this project are endless. Not only will the bus get them to school so they can be educated but it is the mechanism that will foster independence, help them develop talents, and teach them to be respected and valued citizens in their communities. Without this bus many will never realize their true potential and will be dependent on family members for the rest of their life.
