In this report, we share stories of Spotty, Precious and Veera. These cats recently came to our shelter. Spotty and Precious were rescued homeless kittens. The kittens were weak and malnourished. With proper care, the kittens gained strength and have been vaccinated and sterilized. We are hopeful that Spotty and Precious will soon find forever homes. Your donation helps such homeless kittens who otherwise would have no chance for survival. Veera was a weak cat who was abandoned at the shelter. He was malnourished and needed special care. Now he is neutered and vaccinated and happily enjoys running around and sunbathing.
Every week, numerous cats are brought in for spay and neuter, as the awareness about the benefits of birth control for animals has grown. All street cats that come for treatment and surgery are vaccinated and sterilized free of cost. Fifty cats on an average are treated and sterilized every month. This helps control the feline population and the birth of unwanted kittens.
Blue Cross of India has recently constructed a brand new operation theater and post-operative care facilities. This has made our Spay and Neuter Program safe.
Our featured caretaker is Gita, who takes care of the shelter cats. She says " taking care of these homeless cats gives me great happiness and even when I am at home I cannot help but think of these animals". Thanks to her gentle care, our cats are brimming with joy and happiness.
