We want to share two remarkable stories with you. One is about Duke and the other is about Garfield. These heart-warming stories are possible due to generosity from people like you!
Duke, a two-year-old cat, was rescued by Blue Cross of India with both his forelegs fractured. He could barely move and crawled with great difficulty. He seemed to be in a lot of pain. X-rays confirmed his broken bones. Luckily, the diagnosis was encouraging. He could be treated and could walk again! Each of his broken legs had to fixed with a plate. Surgery had to be done on one leg at a time. In December 2014 his left foreleg was operated and a plate fixed. There was a lot of swelling on the operated leg but with good care the swelling soon reduced and he recovered beautifully. In January 2015 his right foreleg has been operated. He is recovering and in a month's time he will be able to walk again.
The second rescued cat is Garfield, He is a five-month-old kitten with a broken foreleg. He was scared, weak and suffering from a respiratory infection. With good care, he soon recovered from the infection and was fit for surgery. His foreleg has been amputated and now he hops all over the shelter. He loves to play by himself and is slowly socializing with the other feline mates
Blue Cross of India continues to rescue hundreds of injured or sick dogs and cats every month. The spay and neuter program continues in full swing. All this is possible because of your generous donations. Cats like Duke and Garfield are able to get a second chance due to compassionate donors like you.
A big thank you from Duke and Garfield and countless others!
