Dear Donor,
Thank you for supporting spay and neuter project of the Blue Cross of India. The project has secured a permanent place on GlobalGiving, but is yet to be fully funded.
We are delighted to inform you that the first spay and neuter for street cats and ferals with your generous donation was carried out in the first week of January, 2012. Cyclone Thane which struck just south of Chennai on December 30, 2011 claiming 45 lives and millions of Rupees of damage led to many calls coming in to the Blue Cross to rescue storm affected cats and kittens.
During the month of December 2011, 27 stray cats have been spayed and 6 neutered. During the same month, 478 stray dogs were spayed and 502 were neutered. With your continued support, we expect to continue spaying/neutering the stray cats and dogs in Chennai, thereby, putting an end to the senseless killing of these animals.
Thanks again for your support which has improved the well being of stray cats and dogs.
