July 2017 Last Minute Loan Fund Report

By Colette Bailey | SOS Loan Fund Manager

For this report, we have some great news to share!  Poverty 2 Prosperity has received a $500 grant to enhance the fund's impact.

I like to share one of the most recently repaid loans to the SOS Loan Fund for each report.  This quarter I would like to include information a loan that helped a couple improve their living standard by upgrading their home.

Sun, 40 years old, is a reliable person who resides in the rural area of Tuek Chenh Village, Preaek Krabau Commune, Kang Meas District, KAMPONG CHAM Province. She is a farmer and she also use her spare time to sew leaves of palm for roof house. Her husband is a motor driver. Both of them don't have any children yet. They are earning an average income about USD 10.00 per day.
As shown at Sun's back, her house was broken and need to renovate. Due to the shortage of capital, now she is requesting a Kiva loan via HKL to buy some construction supplies for renovating her house. This is the first loan cycle for her family with Kiva. She hopes that this loan will help her to have a decent house to live. She wants to create a new business. She would like to express her thanks to all lenders for their financial support.
