SOS Loan Fund Report for December 2015

By Colette Bailey | SOS Loan Fund Manager

SOS Loan Fund has had a lot of progress since the last report.  Thank you so much for donating to this worthwhile project to prevent loans from expiring on our lending platform.  Here are some awesome stats for the SOS Loan Fund:

Total Amount Repaid $23,260.36

Amount available to lend: 203.34

Here is a story of one of our amazing borrowers:

"Mahbuba is a young woman who was born in 1976. She is married and has four children. She works as a cleaner at a municipal hospital and her husband works as a carpenter. She works hard to provide for her family and her income is just enough to cover living expenses. However, Mahbuba would like her family to live in a big house. Since Mahbuba and her husband do not earn enough money for building a new house, she is requesting a loan from Arvand to buy building materials. She hopes for a good outcome and is grateful for the support."

Please notice that the loan wasn't due until July 2016, so she completely repaid her loan long ahead of time.  Imagine the comfort of knowing that the new house is already paid for before the holidays!  With these cold months, it would be nice to have the cash flow to heat the house...

Thanks again for the support for this awesome fund.
