March 2015 SOS Loan Fund Report

By Colette Bailey | SOS Loan Fund Manager

The SOS Loan Fund is to ensure that as many loans on the platform that Poverty 2 Prosperity uses become fully funded.  We have created a fund, The SOS Loan Fund, which is used to help fund loans that are slow to fund.  We strategically invest in loans that may already have some funding so our fund can help as many loans as possible.

One metric that can be used to measure success is how much money the borrowers successfully repaid to the fund.  This money is then used to fund more entrepreneurs goals!  For SOS Loan Fund, the amount raised on GlobalGiving as well as other sources, this has amounted to $16,027.29 repaid over the life of the fund (as of January 2015) and $17,612.89 as of March 18, 2015.

Unlike many organizations, Poverty 2 Prosperity allows each dollar to work harder because each dollar repaid can be reused to fund another entrepreneur's business, allowing that individual to improve his or her family's life.

Your donation has helped fund:

  1.  A Bakery in Bolivia
  2. A Rickshaw in Pakistan
  3. A Grocery Store in Nicaragua
  4. Livestock in Kyrgyzstan
  5. Agriculture in El Salvador
  6. Retail in Philippines
  7. Home Improvement in Guatemala
  8. Fish in Viet Nam
  9. Grocery Store in India

And so much more!!!

Thank you for making a difference in microfinance accessibility around the world
