Helping Families Recover After the Earthquake

By Renata Borka | Fundraiser

Following the devastating earthquake in Venezuela, thousands of families are struggling with the loss of their homes, livelihoods, and sense of security. Thanks to your generosity, ADRA's teams continue providing essential humanitarian assistance to affected communities.

Our emergency response includes:

  • 7,000 hygiene kits for people in evacuation centres.

  • Water purification supplies to help ensure access to safe drinking water.

  • 10,000 food packages for families who have lost everything.

  • Safe spaces for children and psychosocial support for people affected by trauma.

Behind Every Emergency Is a Human Story

For Oneida Oyárvez, an ordinary family afternoon turned into a nightmare when the earthquake struck her residential complex in Ciudad Caribia. With almost no time to react, her family escaped as their home was severely damaged. Since then, her community has been living in what they call"zero hour", facing long days under the scorching sun and rainy nights without proper shelter.

Thirty-five-year-old Wilfredo was recovering from a broken leg when the earthquake hit. Forced to abandon his crutches to escape, he survived but worsened his injury. With his home destroyed and his ability to work as a mechanic limited, he now faces the challenge of supporting his children while living in temporary accommodation.

Stories like Oneida's and Wilfredo's remind us that the impact of an earthquake extends far beyond damaged buildings. Families need food, clean water, safety, and emotional support as they begin rebuilding their lives.

Thanks to your support, ADRA can continue reaching vulnerable families with essential assistance and helping communities take their first steps toward recovery.

Thank you for standing with the people of Venezuela during this difficult time.
