Summary
SOS Telemedicina, a program of the Faculty of Medicine, Universidad Central de Venezuela, created an innovative project for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) 29 years ago. SOS Telemedicina has proven experience to offer accurate and high quality medical knowledge to the country and the region, to contribute to the training of health personnel, as well as a reference for the use of novel communication technology to provide truthful and up-to-date information to the community at large.
Thanks to our donors, we have been able to continue training healthcare personnel and provide information on prevention to the general population.
During this period, we have developed two courses focused on:
Following the methodology developed by SOS Telemedicine (attached file), we have generated new products:
Each course includes:
Our products are posted on the SOS Telemedicina course platform and through the YouTube channel and our social media channels @sostelemedicina
In March, we participated in the Little by Little campaign.
Metrics from the social networks, which are our main source of monitoring, show an increase. In recent months, 90 posts have been published to date, reaching a reach of more than 100%.
Our goal is to continue generating validated information from the Faculty of Medicine for education, training, and distance learning on the most important aspects of general health, reproductive health, and pediatric and adolescent care, thereby strengthening the quality of care provided by healthcare personnel to different population groups. This education also contributes to responsible decision-making and the full exercise of health rights by all members of the community without discrimination.
