Twelve representatives of the Soma Children's Orchestra performed at the Soma Seaside Festival on July 22, 2023. The performance was a good one, blessed with clear skies and a large audience.
The first piece they played was Fuga y Misterio by Ástor Pantaleón Piazzolla.
As the title of the fuga suggests, it was difficult with each part coming in separately and tempo changing frequently but the children performed beautifully without a conductor.
In the second song, 1000 Days of Summer performing with LOVE, a Japanese singer-songwriter came true for the first time in four years.
One of the members, Sumire(11th grade), was interviewed between songs. Actually, she reunited with LOVE by chance through a club activity, and that was the beginning of our conversation about performing together this time.
She answered cheerfully, "I am so happy to be able to work with LOVE again, and to realize my dream of 'performing by the sea!' with my favorite mates."
The children's orchestra has rarely performed at events in the past few years. Everyone seemed to enjoy the live performance to the fullest for the first time in a long time.
We would like to thank Love-san and those who worked hard and supported the even. This is also due to the continuous supports made possible by you, GlobalGiving donors. Thank you so much.
