Several discussions with parents and healthcare teams have highlighted the anxiety of the weekend spent at the hospital. “ It is really on Sunday that clowns would have to come and perform, Sunday at the hospital is a so long day!”
Therefore, Soleil Rouge launched the project to organize some Sunday clowns visits in the « heavy » pediatric services: Emergency & Oncologic care.
The first Sunday performance was this spring.
On one April Sunday, thorn away from their bed, early in the morning, Robinet and Yoyo came and offered a surprise to the sick children and the healthcare teams.
In a very still hospital, where waiting is very long, the clowns were able to capture the void and fill it with love and bursts of laugher. Furthermore, they took the time to stretch all these beautiful shared moments.
Main output of this first Sunday visit: A very successful day for the clowns, a nice surprise for the kids, families and healthcare team, a different rhythm, as compared to the weekly performances, allowing very intense meetings.
This positive experiment will be reproduced from time to time.
