The clowns visit is what will stay in the children minds, the clowns will never be forgotten.
The hospitalized child’s experience, often very hard with medical examinations, pain… disappears while the clowns visit remains.
When I ask to the kids, after their stay in the Grenoble Hospital, “What was hard ?What was great?” What is coming out for 99 % of the surveyed children: they feel guilty for being sick and of the concerns felt by their parents but :”how it was great to get the clowns visits”.
The clowns are facilitators, at various levels depending on each kid’s background and personality, the clowns are facilitators between the children and the hospital.
