For many children in rural Uganda, the end of the school day does not mean the end of their desire to learn. However, when darkness falls and schools have no reliable electricity, opportunities for reading, revision and homework are greatly reduced.
Through our Solar Schools Uganda: Light Up Learning for Children project, we are working to bring clean, reliable solar lighting to schools in underserved rural communities.
Solar energy can transform a classroom. With proper lighting, children can study with greater ease, teachers can prepare lessons more effectively, and schools can create safer and more supportive learning environments.
We are appealing to generous donors, partners and supporters to help us install solar systems in schools that currently struggle without dependable electricity.
