Project Report | Feb 18, 2015
Affordable Solar Light for 1700 African Villagers

By Justin Ibrahim | Program Director.

Tanzsolar has been fortunate to acquire 52 NIWA LED solar lanterns with phone charging capability. In addition we at Tanzsolar have also been able to acquire 46 three LED light systems with phone charging for rural homes and health facilities. During the first week of February Tanzsolar was able to install two of the three LED light systems in Rorya District,Mara Region health dispensaries. These installations have been well received and are being used to upgrade the quality of health delivery services in the health facilities. The plan is to install as many of these systems as possible in the health facilities within Rorya District and Mara Region.

Over half of the LED lighting systems are being designated for purchase by rural households at a discounted price. Tanzsolar has also begun to offer a lay away four payment purchase plan to make these systems more affordable and attainable to low income earners in the rural areas of Mara Region. This effort would not have been possible without the support and contributions that has been provided by our supporters. Thanks to all.
