TanzSolar’s Global Giving project, Affordable Solar Light for 12500 African Villagers, continues to subsidize the cost of solar lights for rural Tanzanian families. We have just $3,520 left to complete this project, only 6%!
Your donations have paid for half of the cost of a solar-powered light for a village family. The villagers themselves pay for the other half, which encourages them to value and care for these lights. TanzSolar is headquartered in Musoma, a town in Northern Tanzania conveniently located to thousands of rural households. We offer ongoing product support, battery replacements and equipment repairs at or below cost. We produce educational literature and are working to introduce the populace to solar electricity and efficient electric lighting. Together we are bringing knowledge and light to rural Africa.
In addition you might like to take a look at our school project; www.globalgiving.org/projects/solar-schools4africa/. This project will fund the electrification of a rural secondary school in northern Tanzania.
Again we thank you for your generous support. Your donations have changed the lives of this large, hard-working rural population in Tanzania, and they are deeply appreciated.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
