After Carefully considering the project budget, and putting in mind inflation, the 15% Global giving fee, and the change in strategy in the manner of implementing the project, we are reviewing the project budget upwards by 4,000 USD. Majority of the donors have not covered the 15% Global giving fee, and inflation has risen rapidly in Kenya over the last 5 months. We are also changing the strategy for implementing the project after we reviewed our site survey. Instead of renting a site for establishing the Youth resource center, we have decided to acquire a plot, and construct our own center. This will offer more space, for training the youth, and will increase our capacity to involve more youth in the project. We shall be looking for a 1/4 or 1/2 an acre plot in the area, which we shall purchase. We shall construct our own resource center with the help of volunteers. This will be one of a kind project, that will provide employment to hundreds of youth from the western region. We anticipate to get more than 10 volunteers from May or June 2011 to help in the construction, although we shall start constructing the site by April 2011.
