News from Revoar in 2024!

By Luciana Abranches Sucupira | Project Leader

Dear Revoar´s friends and supporters,

In this first half of 2024, between April and May, we held the ninth edition of our Educators in Connection Project, in an online format, for 80 professionals from municipal schools in the state of Rio de Janeiro and other municipalities in Brazil. This initiative aimed to train education professionals to intentionally include socio-emotional development in their pedagogical practices.

There were two months of weekly 2-hour meetings, in addition to monitoring the practice of these professionals, seeking to motivate and encourage them to continue implementing socio-emotional education after the end of the Project. We believe that the first step towards socio-emotional education is for educators themselves to look at themselves. Through the approach and methodology that we developed, we invited these educators to directly experiment and experience socio-emotional development.

The Project was very well evaluated, with 97% of participants considering the training VERY GOOD and 70% stating that the training EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS. A very interesting and important fact for Revoar is that 83% of participants stated that during the training they developed some socio-emotional activity/class with their students. Below we present some testimonials about this process, which  contributed to improving the quality of education.

“Educadores em Conexão brought a change in practice, and for the better. Not only will my students benefit from this, but I will also benefit as a person, as training leads us to constantly self-evaluate and we must always strive to be better.”

“Educadores em Conexão gave me encouragement for organized work and perseverance in the socio-emotional proposal to achieve better interpersonal and individual relationships.”

Gratefully yours,

Revoar Institute
