With a group of volunteers we organize activities for people who are in need. For example; Those in social isolation (elderly, recovering addicts and mentally handicapped). Those with a physical or mental disability (alzheimer, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder). Those living in poverty
All of the people we help here at Stichting Present fall into one or more of the following categories: Those in Social Isolation; these are people who have no social network (family or friends). Those with a Physical or Mental Disability; these people suffer from some sort of physical ailment that impacts their mobility and makes daily life difficult. Those living in Poverty. While The Netherlands is one of the wealthiest nations in Europe, 7.6% of the population falls below the poverty line.
Stichting Present Den Haag's core function is facilitating individuals and groups to volunteer within their community. We organise projects based on the volunteer skills, ensuring the community efforts are worthwhile and effective. We work closely with social welfare agencies in The Hague to create the best possible match for each volunteer group. This provides us a good understanding of the social problems within the community and reach the most vulnerable groups within The Hague society.
Our vision is to develop a society in The Hague where it is normal to provide assistance to, look after and take care of one another. We are the bridge between those who can offer assistance and the vulnerable that require assistance.
