We have in Brazil 6.500.000 blind and low vision people spread out in 8 million km2, with very scarce resources and treatment is very limited. Along with a diagnosis of visual impairment come innumerable changes in a person's life, as well as all those who are closer to him or her. Information, clarification, and appropriate care allow individuals potential to be identified and developed and the appropriate conditions created for them to thrive.
Dorina Nowill foundations has programs with different objectives which are divided according to the expected evolution for each phase of the lifecycle of a person, It offers comprehensive rehabilitation program providing individual and group care, which take into account the particularities of each person, as well as work tailored to his or her aptitudes. In this way disabled people have their identity, integrity and stories preserved and valued.
Our foundation attends around 1200 people (around 25000 visits) in our rehabilitation program each year. With funds raised, we can continue our 72 year of history of providing people with visual disability with high level of services of orientation, rehabilitation programs , special education, employability and access to information, through the production and distribution of books in order to guarantee a dignified and meaningful life for them.
