Big changes in the solidarity condominium Aleimar: the Bibì & Bibò day care, which hosts some of the children in Housing, has moved to the first floor, leaving space for the construction of two new apartments. The our referent Luca can thus give a new opportunity to mothers or families in socio-economic difficulty.

The work of the operators is really challenging, but the satisfaction and joy in seeing the beginning of a change is indescribable: it is the case of a woman of whom we report beautiful words:

"I've been here for 8 months, I arrived in a very bad period of my life. I was sick and I had no one to help me because my family is not in Italy. I knocked at Tuendelee's door, without knowing anyone, without knowing what was waiting for me, but only asking for help. I was welcomed by the educators, everyone was close to me and the Foundation became my family. Now I'm better and I have the courage and the strength to keep going. I want to start my life again "

The Social Housing of Melzo is not limited to providing economic and housing support, but, as reported in the testimony, offers an integrated and educational intervention that includes psycho-social support, school support for children and parenting, especially for the relationship with the school.

In this regard, even if the school year is over, the boys continue to be followed in the performance of summer tasks and successfully continues the music-therapy aimed at stimulating the emotions and cognitive, social and motor development of children.

Full of enthusiasm and good intentions, we sincerely thank all those who believe in this project and who will continue to support us in the future.

A new family!
A new family!

The GlobalGiving project continues to have a very positive impact on the Tuendelee's Social Housing program: families and children are the direct beneficiaries of fundraising and in recent months we have achieved important objectives. The work of the Tuendelee's educators, of Aleimar and of the partner organizations continues in a concrete and increasingly synergistic manner, to guarantee an increasingly solid territorial network for the families that the project supports every day.

From January 2018 to today two families have successfully completed the Social, moving to a new home: the output of these two families was followed by Tuendelee to ensure stable and lasting autonomy for parents and children, concluding the personalized project started at the time of their arrival.

In March, a new family was welcomed with great affection and joy: together with the children of entertained families we created colorful and friendly welcome designs. It was a very important moment that allowed the newcomers to know the educators and other families of the project.

On this occasion, a music therapy project started, with the involvement of a volunteer who donated his time and his musical skills to the children of the Housing project, involving them with some drum lessons. The project of music therapy has given very positive results: the children have shown interest, participate and positively stimulated in their creativity.

Thanks for your precious donations, together we will give back hope to numerous families!

Children creating plaques
Children creating plaques

At the moment all the children of the after-school project “Insieme per il bene” by Tuendelee, that is Aleimar’s contact point in Italy, are involved in several different activities related to their day-to-day life and domestic routine. The last few months have been characterized not only by long and intense afternoons of studying and homework before the end of the semester, but also by some break moments all together planning on new common studying spaces in the house.

Among all this ordinary activities, the kids were asked to try a new creative program about “home-made citizenship”. They have noticed that in the house there are some little plaques giving instructions on recycling and separate collection, thus the kids have decided to build new original ones.

The activity has led the kids to open up and tell about their hope for the future and their dreams. Some of them wish to become famous singer, WWF volunteer or good florist. Some other have revealed their night dreams: North Pole ice that every summer turns into a delicious ice cream and change flavor. Starting from the North Pole the conversation was driven to the issue of climate change and the importance of recycling, thus getting to the decision of turning the separate collection room into a colorful and artistic area by realizing new plaques and billboards.

Homework time is definitely an occasion to learn to see life with different eyes.

Although no one has confessed it, tomorrow they will certainly be conscious citizens, but also good dreamers.

The project is continuing very well and here's what the new project leader Luca writes:

"The last months of 2017 saw several families engaged in various job search activities and, consequently, finding new homes. If adults are immersed in work environments that allow them to broaden their prospects for the future, children have taken back the school. With the work of the educators and the collaboration of the commune of residence, the children can take advantage of new spaces where the first integration of all of us takes place: no longer the privileged relationship with mum and family, but the sharing of common spaces together with so many other children, where they eat at the table together, as well as the nests and the snacks. Because the childhood school can and must be the first small integration place. Then you go home and keep playing.
Also, the most magical moment is coming: it misses few more than one month to Christmas, Santa Claus letters and the list of desires begin to be the main themes among the benches of school. During the activities of after-school we begin to express the first wishes about what we would like to receive at Christmas, but above all express the various expectations: of which family and friends would like to receive a visit, or how many vacations they will be doing this year with the school closed. And between a task of algebra and the creation of some Christmas posters, we are thinking of organizing some small party: for this everyone's contribution is needed."

Thanking our believers donors, let's want to wish Merry Christmas the children and all you!

A family's flat
A family's flat

Originally Social Housing is born with the aim of helping the mothers who, welcomed in the host house "Mamma al centro" run by the Tuendelee (a organization with which Aleimar cooperates), wanted to break away from a community context and move the first steps towards a gradual autonomy. Subsequently, however, this aid proposal has also extended to outside families in the center who are experiencing strong economic and housing discomfort. At present, the beneficiary families  are 9 (13 adults and 17 children): in order to respond effectively to individual family issues, we are strengthening cooperation and planning with the local authorities, so that everyone make your contribution based on resources and specific skills.

Thanks to the generous donations obtained during 2017 GG Rewards Bonus Day, it will be possible to cover part of the costs for utilities of the occupied flats and, in view of the beginning of the school, to contribute to the payment of the inscription and the purchase of school material.

Lastly, there is a big news! For personal reasons, our referent Sally, who has followed the initiative since the beginning, has passed the witness to the psychologist Luca that knows very well the families and the activities envisaged by the project as it has always followed the after-school service for children.

Luca, Welcome in our team!
