By Dr. Norby Salonga | Founding Director, LSEED Center
As part of the commitment of LSEED Center to the growth of the social enterprise ecosystem in the country, it has expanded its efforts both through programs and institutional partnerships. The Social Enterprise Incubation and Acceleration for Opportunity Leadership (SIBOL) Program has mobilized relevant partnerships with the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Science and Technology in order to expand support services for MSMEs and social enterprises. This is aligned with the Center's commitment to promote business continuity and sustainability of these organizations. Likewise, its engagements with other academic institutions namely the Ateneo De Manila University and University of the Philippines, have enabled the Center to reach out to more stakeholders and implement programs through the national social enterprise profiling, multi-sectoral workshops and learning sessions— all aimed at increasing awareness about the social enterprise ecosystem.
Consistent to this effort is the hosting of the National Association of Social Enterprise Educators and Administrators (NASEEA), with LSEED Center as its National Headquarter and Secretariat. NASEEA represents the academe in a multi-stakeholders council that implements the national social enterprise roadmap by working with other sectors including MSMEs, private sector, cooperative, and NGOs.
For academic year 2024-2025 alone, the LSEED Center has successfully engaged over 4500 stakeholders and 150 institutions in the country and the Southeast Asian region. The LSEED Hubs located at De La Salle Lipa, University of St. La Salle, and De La Salle University Dasmarinas are part of our commitment to promoting Lasallian social entrepreneurship nationwide.
Come academic year 2025-2026, the Center will fully implement our LSEED Insight, the first ever social enterprise performance and management system, and the sustainability framework with tools on sustainability reporting for social enterprises. These initiatives became possible through our collaboration with stakeholders/partners from the College of Computer Studies and Carlos L Tiu School of Economics.
With active engagement of its stakeholders, all of these became possible. With their sustained commitment, the Center is positioned to accomplish more for the SE ecosystem.
