LSEED Center intensifies capacity building and advocacy efforts

By Dr. Norby Salonga | Founding Director, LSEED Center

The Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center has started implementing its newest program called Social Enterprise Incubation and Acceleration for Opportunity Leadership (SIBOL). The Program provides support to Lasallian social enterprises in areas of market linkage, technical assistance, mentorship, and resource mobilization. A back-to-back training program in marketing and product development was conducted last February 21 and 22, 2025, aimed at capacitating community social entrepreneurs in improving the operation of their social enterprises. Likewise, the training and coaching sessions for mentors has officially kicked off called Green Thumb.

Select Lasallian social enterprises also successfully participated in the LSEED SE Marketplace at DLSU. This is part of the Center’s efforts to expand the SEs market reach and promote locally produced products to the Lasallian community. Social Enterprise Development for Student Organizations (SEDSO)’ Batch 3 was also launched parallel with the Basic Certificate Course on Social Entrepreneurship Batches 4 & 5.

In the area of advocacy, the LSEED Center recently signed several partnership agreements with other Lasallian schools namely De La Salle Lipa and De La Salle Dasmarinas. The agreement includes the promotion of Lasallian social entrepreneurship and the establishment of LSEED Hubs. The Center will work with key offices and stakeholders of these universities for the integration of social entrepreneurship in the fields of curriculum, research, and social engagement. Agreements with select national government agencies, on the other hand, allow Lasallian SEs to have access to relevant training and capacity building efforts.

As part of LSEED Center’s 9th anniversary, a series of events will be conducted for the month of March including the #WeCAN Social Enterprise Conference 2025, Partners Gathering, Anniversary AVP and Newsletter, Social Enterprise Marketplace, LSEED Thrive (SE webisodes), and signing of MOU for partnership, among others. The theme of the celebration is Localizing the Sustainable Development Goals through Social Entrepreneurship.
