Community Core members and Student Fellows of LSEED Fellowship Program Batch 2 actively participated in the Study Tour at Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm on September 7-8, 2018.
A total of 42 participants joined in the two-day exposure to various social enterprises, learning/content sessions, and teambuilding activities that were jointly facilitated and hosted by both Gawad Kalinga and LSEED Teams.
LSEED is a social engagement program of De La Salle University - Manila under the Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA). The program localizes the Sustainable Development Goal number 8 which puts emphasis on decent employment and equitable opportunities.
Also, the first group of student fellows for Batch 2 of LSEED Fellowship Program successfully participated in the immersion activity undertaken on August 31-September, 2018 at Kaingin 1, Barangay Pansol Quezon City. The group is comprised of COSCA LOVE volunteers, in partnership with select community members of ERINYES, a women-led people's organization in QC.
During the immersion, students were given the chance to conduct scoping of informal business models and Key Informant Interviews, with the objectives of (1) Profiling the business models of the urban poor, and (2) Deepening of understanding on the major enablers and barriers of businesses in the community.
