Soap making for Health and income in rural school

Dear Supporters,

We are grateful for your continued support toward our project that empowers vulnerable school children through liquid soap production and hygiene education. Your generosity is helping children gain practical vocational skills while improving hygiene and creating opportunities for sustainable support within their schools and communities.

This reporting period has marked an important step forward for our organization and the children we serve.

What We Have Achieved

During this period, Good Cause Foundation continued training school children in liquid soap production using affordable and locally available materials. The children are learning practical skills that allow them to produce soap for handwashing at school while also generating income through community sales.

The project is helping schools improve sanitation and handwashing practices while introducing children to entrepreneurship, teamwork, and financial responsibility.

We are also excited to share that we have successfully received our first donation through the GlobalGiving platform. In addition, we received support from several generous well-wishers and partners outside the platform. These contributions have played a major role in strengthening our activities and expanding our impact.

Because of this support, we have now started a solid soap making project alongside the liquid soap initiative. This expansion is creating even more opportunities for practical learning and skills development for vulnerable children and women in the community.

Project Impact

Through this initiative:

  • Children are gaining hands-on vocational and entrepreneurship skills
  • Schools now have improved access to soap for handwashing
  • Vulnerable children are receiving support toward school supplies and educational needs
  • Communities are benefiting from affordable locally produced soap
  • Awareness about hygiene and sanitation continues to increase

The children involved are developing confidence, creativity, and hope for a better future through these practical activities.

Challenges We Continue to Face

Although we are making progress, several challenges still affect the growth of the project:

  • Limited production equipment and materials
  • Inadequate safety gear such as gloves and protective equipment
  • Limited funding to scale production and training activities
  • Need for additional tools for quality control and soap testing

Continued support will help us improve production capacity and reach more vulnerable children.

Looking Ahead

In the coming months, we plan to:

  • Expand training to more schools and communities
  • Strengthen both liquid and solid soap production activities
  • Purchase additional safety and production equipment
  • Improve packaging and marketing of soap products
  • Support more vulnerable children with educational needs

We remain committed to building a sustainable, student-led initiative that empowers children through skills development, education support, and hygiene promotion.

Thank You

On behalf of the children, schools, and communities we serve, thank you for believing in our mission. Your support is helping create lasting change and brighter opportunities for vulnerable children in Uganda.

Together, we are building healthier communities and empowering the next generation through practical skills and education.

With gratitude,

Good Cause Foundation
