Soap Making for Health & Income in Rural Schools

We are grateful to our donors and the GlobalGiving community for supporting our School Children Soap Making Project. Thanks to the $126 raised so far, we successfully conducted practical training sessions in liquid and solid soap production for school children, young mothers, and community members.

Participants learned how to safely mix ingredients, package products, and market them within their communities. The project provided all necessary materials for the training, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience and confidence in soap production.

As a result, soap products were distributed to 20 households, helping families improve hygiene while reducing their spending on cleaning products. Several participants have already started producing soap independently to generate additional household income.

We remain committed to strengthening the children's SACCO, which will provide a sustainable source of support for vulnerable learners. Thank you for helping us create opportunities that empower children and communities through practical entrepreneurship and improved sanitation.

Growing Hope Through Skills, Hygiene, and Education

We are delighted to share another milestone in our journey. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, our project has so far received 3 donations totaling $126. While we are still in the early stages of fundraising, these contributions represent a strong vote of confidence in our vision of empowering young people through practical skills training.

This project is designed to equip school children with the knowledge and skills needed to produce liquid soap using affordable and locally available materials.

Through the training, students will gain hands-on experience in production, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and financial management. These are valuable life skills that can help them become self-reliant and productive members of their communities.

The impact of this initiative extends beyond the classroom. The soap produced by students will support handwashing and hygiene practices within schools, helping to create healthier learning environments and reduce the spread of preventable illnesses.

Any surplus soap will be sold to nearby communities, generating income that will be used to support vulnerable learners with school fees, scholastic materials, examination requirements, and other educational needs.

By combining education, health, and entrepreneurship, this project creates a sustainable model that empowers students while supporting their peers who are most at risk of dropping out of school due to financial challenges.

Every step forward brings us closer to building stronger schools and brighter futures for children in underserved communities.

Appeal to Donors: We are deeply grateful for the support received so far, but there is still a long journey ahead. We need additional resources to purchase ingredients, measuring equipment, storage containers, protective gear, and training materials for participating schools.
