DWN Soapmaking Program Update October 2015

Dear Friends,

The Darfur Women Network (DWN) is grateful for your support of the refugees of the Darfur genocide. Your generous donation helped the survivors to complete their training in soap making.

Since May to present, we have been seeking soap-making ingredients and the materials to produce the soap. The four soap production teams are waiting for our generous donors to secure these materials to help them with personal hygiene. The needed materials are:

Sodium hydroxide
Soap Molds: a traditional wooden soap mold
Soap Drying Trays
Soap Maker Scales
Soap Mixing Tools (a container made out of heat resistant material used only when making soap)
Safety Equipment (rubber gloves and goggles for protection from the hazardous chemicals)
Soap Cutter (and manual): a soap cutter is used to cut the soap into bars

With your support, we will have soap-making supplies and equipment ready for the soap-making group. These supplies will help solve the problem of the lack of hygiene materials in the camp.
