Since our project was approved, we did not start fundraising on it until July 2026 and we have not received funds from GlobalGiving raised so far. At this time, we are still in the preparation for the implementation of the new phase of the project, which means establishing project implementation plans with our local partner organization CEOSS. CEOSS is also obtaining needed approval from the local ministry which will allow them to deploy new funds into planned activities in the villages of Upper Egypt. In the meantime, HANDS also reached out to potential private sector partners in Egypt, aiming to gain additional support (either in kind or financial) to widen the impact and scaling up of the project. CEOSS is also conducting preliminary awareness raising activities in the locations selected for the project, to prepare the local residents and small farmers to embrace new water management solutions. We look forward to reporting about further progress of the activities in the next reporting period.
