The Fund for Keshatot Children, supports Keshatot and Harim schools for Autistic children in Israel. Half of the children do not speak. We continue to fund iPads, AppleTvs, apps, repairs and up-grades for iPads and smart boards in every school and kindergarten classroom. This year the Fund wishes to purchase 10 additional iPads equipped with the TouchChat App, especially strong and shock-resistant protective cases suitable, and another 2 TV screens and Apple TVs to be used with the iPads.
Autistic children are challenged with communications with other people. In the schools the Fund supports, half the children are non-verbal and rely on iPads with dedicated Apps for their requests, needs and studying. We not only wish for the teacher to communicate with a autistic child via the iPad, but wish for the lesson to be enjoyed by all the classroom. Using iPads connected to an AppleTv and Tv, we can project the lesson to the entire class, while the teacher interacts with one child.
We have a proven method of using an iPad and smart screen connected via an AppleTV. The teacher creates her lesson, interacts with a non-verbal pupil using the iPad and the rest of the children watch via the classroom smart screen. The scope of the project, its contribution to the communication skills of our pupils and the dedication of the staff to acquiring challenging new technological skills are impressive.
The Fund for Keshatot Children continues to fund apps, repairs and up-grades for iPads and smart boards in every school and kindergarten classroom we suppret. This year the Fund purchased 10 additional iPads equipped with the TouchChat App, especially strong and shock-resistant protective cases suitable for use with our pupils and 2 large TV screens connected to iPads in 2 new classrooms.
