Creating opportunities for a brighter future

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patron,

Slum children face numerous obstacles in accessing quality education, including poverty, lack of resources, and limited access to safe learning spaces. These challenges often lead to low enrollment rates, inadequate learning facilities, and underqualified teaching staff, hindering their academic progress.

Many slum children are forced to work to support their families, which limits their time and energy for schooling.

We at El Shaddai aim to provide free education to all underprivileged and slum children so that it will help to empower the children by breaking the cycle of poverty, providing better job opportunities, and boosting economic development. It will also foster personal growth, social awareness, and community development, ultimately leading to more sustainable and positive change. We have in these three months reached out to 2,921 children by providing access to education through formal and non-formal schooling.

The children also receive educational kits like school bag, tiffin, water bottles and stationary. They are given midday meals which will provide a regular source of nutrition, encouraging school enrollment and attendance, and improving their overall health and well-being.

We have a beautiful transformation story of a little girl named Reena(name changed). She lived with her parents in the slums. She used to help her mother in selling toys at the bus stands, sidewalks, and sometimes in the fairs. Every day she would be standing in the scorching heat and wait for buyers. At home she had to help her mother in household chores. She often saw children with their bags and books and always wished to have one too and get the change of going to school. A kind hearted passerby told them about El Shaddai and the mother brought the child to our centre. We enrolled her in the Home and in the school where she is presently studying in the nursery class and is so very happy now to find her dreams just came true.

There are many such children who are just waiting for a change to fulfil their dreams. We can provide for all these children with your generous support and we have been able to achieve all these beautiful transformations only with your constant help and kindness. We are grateful for the love you have given us all these years and we look forward to your continued support and care.

 With Gratitude,

Sincerely

El Shaddai Family
