By Rudianto Sembiring | Project leader

The West Sumatra Wildlife Rescue Unit authorithy team and accompany also by volunteer released a slow loris into the Palupuh Nature Reserve after previously receiving a report from our local vounteer on Jalan Birugo Bungo, Bukittinggi on 3th of May 2025.

The slow loris was previously seized on March 24th from residents and in rehabiliated for a week, after receiving and ensuring the slow loris was healthy through behavioral monitoring, the team immediately released it into its natural habitat, at the Palupuh Nature Reserve.

where informants have been working with the wildlife authorities to educate villagers who live in secondary and primary forests and the awareness is going quite well even though there are still villagers who secretly catch slow lorises in the wild to keep or sell
