Slow loris mother&child rescued & released in Aceh

By rudianto sembiring | project leader

Saturday, June 26, 2021, the Aceh Bksda team accompanied by ISCP/YPKSI confiscated 1 female Sumatran slow lorises together with her young slow loris from a resident named Mrs. Linda, aged 39 years, occupation, housewife, having her address at Lampahan village west, Timang Gajah sub-district, central Aceh. It was really appreciate for the community who report to ISCP volunteers where the woman kept a slow loris which is a protected animal and then it was forwarded to the BKSDA resort of Central Aceh. She has been keeping the slow loris for one week which she bought from a animal poacher.

The BKSDA Aceh Resort Takengon team together with the ISCP team also provided socialization to Linda and gave an understanding that these animals are protected by law and if in the future they repeat their actions, strict action will be taken or law enforcement in accordance with the Indonesian wildlife protection law. In the same day afternoon, the two slow lorises were released by the BKSDA team at the Aceh resort, accompanied by ISCP volunteers in the Takengon conservation forest area.

Good friends and all good donors, support and help us continue to donate our work to save slow lorises and other wildlife at our fundraiser at our GlobalGiving crowdfunding link platform.

Warm regards
