Rescue 3 slow lorises and 1 black eagle

North Sumatra BKSDA, accompanied by ISCP & HOCRU OIC tim rescued 3 individual slow lorises and 1 black eagle (Ictinaetus malayensis) !!

Wednesday (July 29, 2020), the North Sumatra Province Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA of North Sumatra), accompanied by the collaboration of the ISCP & the Human - Orangutan Conflict Rescue Unit (HOCRU) unit of Orangutan Information Center (OIC) confiscated and rescued 3 (three) Sumatran slow lorises and 1 black eagle kept by the community at a tourist site in Sei Bingei District, Langkat Regency.

Rescue of animals is done through a persuasive approach to one of the people who maintain protected animals in a tourist attraction in the area.

We were very sad, yet again, slow lorises became pets and were piloted by tourists who came to the place.

In fact the wildlife are very difficult to make as a pet.
Because it is so often wrong in doing treatment that can cause illness that results in the death of the animal.

From the rescue and after being identified by sex, of the 3 slow lorises we saved, 2 were among the females and 1 male.

The condition is,two individual of slow lorises looks thin and must be treated / rehabilitated before it is released into nature later.

Let's continue help us to save the slow loris and another wildlife from extinction due to habitat destruction, hunting and trade for maintenance.

Warm regards
Indonesian Species Conservation Program (ISCP)
