ISCP release 3 Lorises &1leopard cat,July 12,2018

By rudianto sembiring | project leader

Finally, the Indonesian Species Conservation Program (ISCP) released three individuals from the rehabilitation center of ISCP with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency of North Sumatra (BKSDA-SU) on Thursday 12 July 2018. 3 Individual slow lorises are from rescue and also from voluntary handover by local community to BKSDA who was also accompanied by ISCP in the last few months and sent it for rehabilitation at the ISCP center, especially slow lorises if kept or traded on the black market is usually cruel and very tortured both feed , health and their treatment of animals in narrow cages.

As for 1 leopard cat (Felis bengalensis) along with the release of slow loris on the same day and date yesterday is also the result of confiscate of BKSDA from local community.

Prior to the release of the 3 lorises, ISCP requested medical check up by a part time veterinary and a medical check-up at animal rescue center TWA Sibolangit clinic where the ISCP is still inadequate facilities and infrastructure of animal clinic support. For the installation of collar / telemetry we do before release in Dairi forest assisted by partime / perdiem veterinarian from BKSDA-SU too.

We are still continuing to learn how to improve our shortcomings as conservation servants where we are aware of the many flaws and imperfections in working as conservation animal preservation servants and also still continue need the guidance of you and moral support in order to continue ISCP as part of the conservation servant in North Sumatra particularly and generally in Indonesia.

Finally We would like to thank all donors who have taken part directly or indirectly to us, hopefully fund raising in GlobalGiving that we are going to be realized will be distributed for the need of medical equipments of simple animal clinic support at ISCP center .

Warm regards ISCP Local Team
