The “Skills Training for 400 Refugees in Kebbi State” project is currently in its early fundraising and mobilization stage. The total project budget remains at $41,198, with no donations received yet and the full funding target still outstanding. Despite the funding gap, preliminary coordination activities have begun, including stakeholder engagement, training needs assessment, and identification of qualified vocational instructors and training centers within host communities in Kebbi State.
Project planning has prioritized cost-effective implementation to ensure that available resources, once received, are directed primarily toward participant training materials, starter kits, instructor fees, and entrepreneurship support. Budget allocations have been carefully structured to maximize direct impact on beneficiaries, with a strong focus on transparency and accountability in financial management.
Community interest in the program remains high, especially among women and youth refugees seeking sustainable livelihood opportunities. Preparatory outreach has also strengthened relationships with local leaders and refugee representatives, positioning the project for immediate rollout once funding commitments are secured. The project team continues to intensify donor engagement efforts to close the funding gap and ensure the timely commencement of vocational and business skills training for the targeted 400 refugees.
