With the 2025/2026 school year having concluded at the end of June, we now have an opportunity to reflect on another year of STEM.BA as a free and trusted educational resource for students across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the most recent reporting period, the platform reached approximately 68,000 active users, generated more than 191,000 page views, and recorded close to 488,000 user interactions.
For a country of fewer than three million people, we believe this continues to represent a significant educational reach and demonstrates the important position STEM.BA has built within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s online STEM education landscape.
Understanding Changing Student Habits
Compared with the previous year, we recorded a decrease in overall traffic. This development reflects a broader change in the way students search for information and support with their schoolwork, particularly with the rapid adoption of freely available AI tools.
Students increasingly use AI for quick answers, explanations, and assistance with assignments. While this has changed traditional patterns of web search and educational website use, we see it primarily as an important signal about how learning habits are evolving.
The need for trustworthy educational content has not disappeared. On the contrary, the growing amount of automatically generated information makes reliable, structured, and locally relevant educational resources increasingly important.
STEM.BA continues to offer students materials in their own language, connected to their educational environment and designed to build understanding of STEM concepts rather than simply provide an immediate answer.
A Strong Foundation to Build On
Even in this rapidly changing digital environment, tens of thousands of students continue to use STEM.BA.
Considering the size of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we view this level of engagement as very encouraging. It also reinforces our belief that STEM.BA remains among the most widely used dedicated STEM educational platforms in the country.
Over the years, we have created a substantial library of accessible STEM knowledge and built a recognizable educational resource for students, teachers, and families. Keeping this content freely available and maintaining the technical infrastructure behind the platform remain central to our mission.
The continued support of our donors makes it possible for us to keep STEM.BA online, stable, and accessible to students regardless of their location or economic circumstances.
Using the Summer to Prepare for What Comes Next
With the school year now behind us, the summer period gives our team valuable time to evaluate what we have learned and think creatively about the next stage of STEM.BA.
During the coming months, we will focus on brainstorming new approaches and exploring how the platform can evolve alongside changing learning habits. This includes considering how AI and other emerging technologies can complement our existing educational resources, how we can make learning more interactive and engaging, and how STEM.BA can continue to provide value beyond a simple automated answer.
Our objective is not to compete with technological change, but to adapt intelligently to it while preserving what has always made STEM.BA important: free access, reliable knowledge, local relevance, and a long-term commitment to STEM education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We enter the new school year with optimism. The way young people learn is changing quickly, and we want STEM.BA to evolve with them while continuing to provide a dependable educational resource for students across the country.
