We have also been distributing face mask and other sanitary items to maintain proper hygiene and sanitation in the environment. Due to which school have been able to start and run their courses.

Also, we had not been able to run our scholarship programs due to the corona virus and the nation wide lockdown. One of the future students, Ms. Punam  (pictured below) is very excited to start her education.

We hope all of you are doing well during this tough situation that has arisen due to the global pandemic of the Corona Virus. The entire world and its economy has suffered a great shock due to global lockdowns being in effect which has affected lives everywhere. With almost 120 days long nation wide lockdown, Nepal`s economy also faced a huge shock with the most hard hit being the daily wage workers and general labours who relied on day to day work for their sustainability.

JHF Nepal during the last few months of nation wide lockdown in Nepal utilized its resources away from its training programs to help around 200-250 families with basic food relief distribution. By encouraging local praticipation and small donations from various generous donors we were able to distribute food relief to those who were in need of the most. The food relief package included items such 25-30kgs sack of rice, 1kg pack of salt, 1 ltr. of cooking oil, lentils and potatoes. The families to whom these relief were distributed were mostly daily wage workers and seasonal tourism workers. Although not much, but we can assure you that this small help did a great help on minimizing the impact of the lockdown that took place.

Duties come second, being human becomes our first duty. So, until the situation becomes normal, JHF Nepal will be mobilizing its resources to help those in need with food relief package and other possible humanitarian aid assistance.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support.

Also, with the global pandemic of Corona virus affecting the world, we would urge everyone to stay safe and practice social distancing to avoid the spread of this deadly disease.

Stay Safe

Cheers!

Namaste Friends!

It is with great pleasure that we present you our new project progress report.

Journey Home Foundation (JHF) under the initiative of promoting women empowerment has been providing various kinds of training opportunities as requested by the girls.

With the change in time, there has been a drastic changes in lifestyle and living standards all over the world. With technological advancement, there has been rapid modernization taking place all over the world with constant updates from all over.

This has led to diminishing traditional values as well. From lifestyle to cultural norms. With this in mind, JHF recently conducted a tradtional wool weaving traning, where various clothing apparels were taught to weave using the old techiniques. These items are specially worn in the himalayan region of Nepal.

We, conducted this training especially for the women as most of them, in their leisure, are in to weaving but only for self-use. By this training workshop, we hope that along with their normal income source this will surely add up and extra source of income to help grow their financial stability. The market for them is generally the local community but domestic and international tourist, of late, have also been contributing to the sales of the items.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support.

Also, with the global pandemic of Corona virus affecting the world, we would urge everyone to stay safe and practice social distancing to avoid the spread of this deadly disease.

Namaste Friends!

It is with great pleasure that we present you our new project progress report.

Journey Home Foundation (JHF) under the initiative of promoting women empowerment has been providing various kinds of training opportunities as requested by the girls.

Our recent program was held in various parts of rural Gorkha regarding breast cancer and uterus cancer issues. Many people in these region tend to ignore their reproductive health as well as breast cancer issues. The stigma around it plays a huge role towards the ignorance of such critical issues.

So, we, with the support from Dharche rural municipality and COHI international, conducted awareness programs regarding breast cancer & uterus cancer. Also, with that  we gave them ideas regarding maternal and reproductive health, personal hygiene & sanitation practices.

Looking back at 2019, we feel very proud of our works that we did. From helping girls & women to be self-reliant through skill development programs, helping people be aware about their reproductive health, especially women, to minimizing the instances of Gender equality and domestic violence though various vocational classes. All these activities would not have been possible without our well wishers and their support.

We hope and plan to do more in the upcoming year 2020.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support

We heartily welcome your views, comments and queries regarding the work of JHF.

Wishing you a happy new year 2020

Cheers!

Journey Home Foundation (JHF) under the initiative of promoting women empowerment has been providing various kinds of training opportunities as requested by the girls.

This time, JHF conducted a 2 day workshop on leadership & capacity development with the essence of promoting gender equality and women empowerment. The workshop was held at Sorakhutte, Kathmandu. The workshop was inaugarated by chairman of Ward no. 16, Kathmandu.

This 2- day workshop was aimed at :

1. Making the related stakeholders of ward no.16, Kathmandu on their roles for development.

2. Making women aware about their importance in developmental activities.

3. Making women reponsible towards social development, from their home to society as a whole.

4. Encourage for better skill development to compensate for lack of skilled manpower. etc.

This program was a success with a good number of participants. We had hoped that it would be a very reactive session and it was a pretty good one as well. The participants contributed in all the discussion sessions etc. to make the workshop more better.

We hope that from this project we have atleast gave them an idea about the essence of the workshop was about and the importance of what they have learnt from there. Also, we think that from this session they can contribute towards a sustainable development of the nation with the essence of gender equality.

We thank our supporters for motivating us to keep up with our good work. We hope to forever be blessed with your everlasting support

We heartily welcome your views, comments and queries regarding the work of JHF.
