Ignite Lasting Change with Community Film Events

In 2026, SIMA Cinema Across Borders (CAB) continues its global journey, bringing the transformative power of impact storytelling to communities worldwide.

In collaboration with local leaders, human rights forums, film festivals, and grassroots organizations, SIMA’s year-round traveling series showcases award-winning films to spark meaningful conversations, build coalitions, and inspire action around the issues that matter most.

The year kicked off with a series of powerful screening events across Europe, Africa, and Asia:

• In Serbia (Belgrade & Stara Pazova), multiple screenings were hosted in collaboration with Galerija Stara Kapetanija, featuring a diverse lineup of short films including The Barber of Little Rock, Radio Dadaab, Samuel and the Light, and Only If the Baby Cries. These curated, multi-film programs encouraged deeper dialogue and reflection.
• In Nigeria, partners such as StoryMi and Park Radio led an impactful regional rollout. Between the Rains was screened across several cities—Lagos, Kano, Maiduguri, Port Harcourt, and Benin—alongside a screening of Zurawski vs. Texas in Abuja.
• In South Africa (Cape Town), DocLOVE presented Made in Ethiopia at a local Community Center bringing together a diverse audience of filmmakers, activists, and academics, and fostering a rich space for dialogue.
• InIndonesia (Surabaya), The Last Ice Age was screened in classrooms in partnership with the Lions Club Surabaya Wijaya, engaging students through film-based learning.

Overall, these screenings highlight SIMA’s growing global footprint, the dedication of its trusted partners, and the impact of thoughtfully curated film programs in sparking meaningful dialogue across diverse regions.
