Greetings from Khayelitsha,Cape Town,South Africa. The winter weather has just passed on and now we are in spring. The winter this season was cold but there were few rainfall as a result dams are half empty.
Our food gardening project has gone from strenth to strength-we have partnered with an old age home and a local early childhood centre. We are supplying them with vegatables that we are growing.
2 projects were initiated in Zwezwe and Nkanini in the informal settlements near Monwabisi beach in Khayelitsha.
2 groups of 8 and 7 people were taught on how to grow vegetables to feed themselves. All these poeple have undergone basic business skills training which is a two weeks course on how to run a business.
Sijonge Kuwe Food gardening project is making a huge difference in our community.
We would like to thank GlobalGiving for supporting our project.
