Greetings and Happy Holidays from GlobeMed!
As the year comes to an end, on behalf of GlobeMed and Set Her Free, we would like to thank you for your contributions to Set Her Free! Your generous donations have aided Set Her Free in supporting many young women like Viola, a young woman who came to Set Her Free for help a few years ago. At the age of 16 she moved to Kampala to work as a house maid where she began an unhealthy relationship with the 25 year old son of the family. Upon finding out that she was pregnant, the family threw her out and she moved to a nearby slum. She delivered and took care of her baby on her own and eventually went to a church to beg so that she would be able to take care of her baby. It was in this condition that she found Set Her Free.
Set Her Free gave her and her baby a place to stay. Set Her Free decided to send her back to school and take care of her baby while she was away. Today, Viola is in college and her girl is now 4 years old and attending school thanks to the support of Set Her Free. There are many other stories such as this, and Set Her Free has helped countless young women and even their children break from the cycle of poverty.
Set Her Free would not be able to do the great work that it does without help from generous donors such as you! Thank you! Set Her Free is always looking for sponsors to support a girl through her formal schooling. Also all new recurring donations that are set up before the end of the year will be matched 200% (i.e. doubled!) thanks to a Global Giving end of the year campaign.
Once again thank you so much for your support. We at GlobeMed are so excited for what’s to come in 2017!
Best,
The GlobeMed Team
