Kenya's Nyanza Province is leading with high number of AIDS orphans due to high rate of this pandemic disease, among these are deaf and deaf blind children left orphans with less supervision from guardians.With no option, guidance, lack of commitment, communication barrier and stigma, these children lead to streets as a last resort. Stobbeholze nel is helping through education and now want to bring them closer, show love and care by offering accommodation, food, clothing and health care to them
With high rate of HIV/AIDS and Nyanza leading with the number of orphan children, among these are deaf and deaf blind children with less or no care from the guardians, these children with no option, lack of guidance, commitment from relatives, communication barrier and stigma, they usually lead to the streets as a last resort. Stobbeholze nel want to bring them closer, love them, care for them, offer accommodation, food, education and health care to them by offering them a place to call to home.
By building dormitories they will have somewhere to sleep, offering nutritious food program to them at the center, clothing, offering education sponsorship to them to gain skills in various fields, and taking good care of their health needs by taking them to the health institutions whenever they fall sick. showing them love and employing friendly staff who will take good care of them because they need special treatment.Advocating for their rights by working closer with relevant authorities.
By 2012 when the schools close for holidays, 50 deaf blind children will be accommodated at the center whom we have identified that really need this help and their life styles will change as they will have a place to call their home. Employ 6 care givers, employ other 10 workers in the day to day running of the project.Train the local community in sign language, give good knowledge to the deaf blind on how to take care of their selves. Act as a resource center with information on deaf blindness.
