I was aware of the risk as I have suffered two years back when trafficked to Mumbai, but I had little options left. I was physically and mentally tortured daily by my family members who were pressurizing me to earn by any means, me and my little daughter was not getting regular food, So, when Rafiq offered me a job at a nearby town I readily accepted and left with my daughter with him, but after reaching NJP( New Jalpaiguri) station when Rafiq and his friend offered me a drink I became suspicious as I was aware of such modus operandi, I quietly left the place on a pretext of going to the toilet and went to the RFP(Railway Police Protection Force) check post and sought help. Presently, I am back again at a shelter home- safe and free from violence. – Amina (name changed), 18 years- a restored survivor of Kalchini Block. Alipurduar January’2021
