She Shine is committed to empowering girls through mentorship, sports participation, and the promotion of equal opportunities in SLAC. The initiative seeks to create a supportive environment where girls can build confidence, develop leadership skills, discover their talents, and pursue their aspirations without discrimination.
Currently, 37 girls are undergoing mentorship through the She Shine initiative. The programme aims to provide guidance, encouragement, and opportunities that help these girls develop personally, socially, and athletically.
Through mentorship and sports, She Shine seeks to challenge gender stereotypes, encourage girls to believe in their abilities, and promote a culture where girls are supported to participate and excel in all areas of life.
2. Key Areas of Intervention
A. Girls’ Mentorship and Personal Development
She Shine provides a platform for girls to receive mentorship and guidance as they navigate personal development, leadership, and future aspirations. The programme encourages girls to build self-confidence, develop communication and decision-making skills, and recognise their potential.
With 37 girls currently undergoing mentorship, the initiative is working to ensure that participants have access to positive guidance and encouragement to make informed decisions and pursue their goals.
B. Promoting Girls’ Participation in Sports
Sports are an important tool for empowering girls and developing teamwork, discipline, resilience, and leadership. She Shine promotes girls’ participation in sports and advocates for environments where girls can develop their abilities without facing gender-based barriers.
The initiative seeks to challenge the perception that sports are primarily for boys and encourages girls to pursue sporting interests and opportunities with confidence.
C. Promoting Equal Opportunities for Girls in SLAC
She Shine advocates for fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for girls in SLAC. The initiative recognises that girls should have the same opportunities to develop their talents, participate in sports, access mentorship, and take on leadership roles.
Through its work, She Shine seeks to encourage a more supportive environment in which girls’ voices are heard, their contributions are valued, and their ambitions are taken seriously.
3. Progress and Expected Impact
The participation of 37 girls in mentorship represents an important step towards creating opportunities for girls to learn, grow, and develop their potential.
Through continued mentorship and sports-related interventions, She Shine aims to:
Strengthen girls’ confidence and self-esteem.
Develop leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Encourage greater participation in sports.
Challenge gender stereotypes and discriminatory attitudes.
Promote equal opportunities for girls in sports and other areas of development.
Encourage families and communities to support girls’ ambitions.
The programme will continue to monitor its progress and identify opportunities to strengthen the support provided to participating girls.
4. Looking Ahead
She Shine remains committed to supporting the 37 girls currently undergoing mentorship while working towards expanding its reach and impact.
The initiative aims to strengthen mentorship activities, encourage girls’ participation in sports, and promote equal opportunities for girls in SLAC.
