In times of war, Ukrainian women are often forced to choose between their own health and the needs of their families. Our program exists so that this choice doesn't have to be made.
Over the past three months, we reimbursed medical expenses for 19 women from Odesa, Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Dnipro, and Kyiv, totaling 40,259 UAH (approximately $900 USD). Most of them are participants in our gender-based violence prevention program WINGS, internally displaced persons who have lost their jobs or homes due to the war. This was made possible through individual donor contributions and the support of GlobalGiving: together, you are directly funding medical care for the women who need it most.
Thanks to this support, women gained access to MRI scans, endocrinological screenings, liver and kidney function tests, and essential medications — services that were previously out of reach due to financial hardship. Our program gives women the permission and the means to take care of themselves.
"I had never gotten endocrinological tests before, they were too expensive. Thanks to you, I finally understand what is happening with my health and have started treatment. This support means the world to me" — Anna (name changed), from Lutsk.
Your contribution makes a direct impact: $10 covers basic lab tests, $30 covers a diagnostic screening and medication. Join us! Together, we can support even more women
