She Matters: Medical Aid for Women from Ukraine

We launched the fundraising campaign for medical reimbursements in fall 2025. During this period, we raised approximately $50 in individual contributions. Additionally, our project received recognition from the GlobalGiving platform, and the team decided to allocate an additional $1,000 to support this initiative.

As a result, we were able to cover medical expenses for three women in Kyiv and Odesa. Support included gynecological tests, necessary medications, and blood biochemistry analyses. This assistance allowed the women not only to check their health status but also to take meaningful steps toward improving it, including receiving accurate diagnoses and adjusting treatment plans.

Stories of women who received reimbursement

One participant had long experienced liver problems but could not access proper diagnostics to know if her treatment was effective. Thanks to the reimbursement, she was able to complete tests, receive accurate results, and adjust her therapy with her doctor. This stabilized her condition and helped her regain a sense of control over her health.

Another woman expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunity to complete her hepatitis vaccination course. Without this support, she would not have been able to finish the vaccinations, which are a vital part of preventive care and maintaining long-term health.

Although the total cost of these expenses was less than $100, these funds created real change in the women’s lives. They enabled access to necessary medical care, restored confidence in their health, and provided the first steps toward improvement. This demonstrates that even a small contribution can have a significant impact on the well-being and lives of individuals.
