3rd Report - Sharing Happiness by Qurbani 2026

By Maksuda Akter Hridi | Exicutive, Partnership, OBHIZATRIK Foundation

Summary

Eid-ul-Azha is a sacred occasion that represents sacrifice, compassion and sharing. In Bangladesh, however, thousands of families living below the poverty line cannot afford meat throughout the year. For many of these families, Eid-ul-Azha is the only time they can access nutritious food such as beef or goat meat.

Through the “Sharing Happiness by Qurbani 2026” initiative, OBHIZATRIK Foundation aims to distribute Qurbani meat to underprivileged families, ensuring they can celebrate Eid with dignity and joy. This initiative not only fulfills a religious obligation but also promotes social equity and compassion.

Building on the success of the 2025 program, OBHIZATRIK Foundation plans to scale up its Qurbani meat distribution in 2026 through early donor engagement, transparent planning and community-based implementation.

Challenges

In Bangladesh, many families live in poverty and can't afford meat, making Eid ul Azha a time of exclusion rather than celebration. For some, Eid is the only time they might eat meat. This deepens inequality and leaves children feeling left out reinforcing a cycle of deprivation during a spiritually significant time.

  • Food Insecurity: Many families living below the poverty line lack regular access to protein-rich food.
  • Economic Hardship: Rising living costs prevent low-income households from performing Qurbani or purchasing meat.
  • Seasonal Dependence: For many families, Eid-ul-Azha is the only time they receive meat in an entire year.
  • Vulnerable Groups: Children, women, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities are most affected by malnutrition.

Solution

Through collective generosity and organized implementation, this initiative transforms individual religious obligations into a shared humanitarian response. By pooling donor contributions and mobilizing trained volunteers, OBHIZATRIK Foundation ensures that Qurbani meat reaches the most vulnerable families in a safe, respectful and equitable manner.

Planned Intervention for Qurbani 2026

OBHIZATRIK Foundation will implement an expanded and well-coordinated Qurbani program in 2026 with the following focus areas:

  • Wider Coverage: Reach more families than previous years through increased Qurbani sponsorship.
  • Fair Distribution: Identify and prioritize the most vulnerable households through community-based targeting.
  • Ethical and Hygienic Practices: Ensure Shariah-compliant Qurbani, food safety, and respectful distribution.
  • Volunteer Mobilization: Engage trained volunteers for supervision, packaging, and distribution.
  • Early Preparation: Enable donors to contribute throughout the year in small, manageable amounts.

Donation Opportunity

Supporters can take part in Qurbani 2026 through flexible contribution options:

  • USD 10 – Qurbani meat for 1 family
  • USD 20 – Qurbani meat for 2 families
  • USD 30 – Qurbani meat for 3 families
  • USD 40 – Qurbani meat for 4 families
  • USD 100 – Qurbani meat for 10 families
  • USD 125 – Donate a cow in sharing
  • USD 150 – Donate a goat for Qurbani
  • USD 850 – Donate one full cow for Qurbani

Even small contributions, when combined, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged families.

Impact

The “Sharing Happiness by Qurbani” initiative creates both immediate and long-term benefits:

  • Improved Nutrition: Provides essential protein to food-insecure families.
  • Dignity and Inclusion: Enables marginalized households to celebrate Eid with joy and respect.
  • Community Engagement: Strengthens volunteer participation and donor trust.
  • Lasting Change: Promotes a culture of planned, compassionate, and responsible giving.

By addressing hunger during Eid and fostering social inclusion, the project strengthens community bonds and contributes to long-term well-being.

Appeal for Year-Round Support

While Qurbani provides seasonal relief, hunger and malnutrition remain year-round challenges. OBHIZATRIK Foundation seeks continuous support to prepare early, implement efficiently, and expand outreach. Year-round contributions help reduce costs, improve planning, and ensure more families receive support during Eid-ul-Azha and beyond.

Your ongoing support plays a vital role in ensuring that vulnerable individuals, especially children and women, receive the nutrition, care and dignity they deserve.

Conclusion

“Sharing Happiness by Qurbani 2026” is more than a meat distribution program; it is a reflection of shared humanity, compassion, and responsibility. With the support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers, OBHIZATRIK Foundation is committed to bringing hope, nourishment and joy to thousands of underprivileged families.

Together, we can turn sacrifice into smiles and make Eid meaningful for everyone.
